The rooms are OK for the money, but nothing more. The water pressure so low it took 20 minutes to run the tub and heating systems are loud and obnoxious. I won't go back... Still gave them two stars in all fairness...
I wish I had better things to say about Diamond resorts. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly. While Sedona is a remarkably beautiful place, and this resort is near some of this beauty its simply on the wrong side of the road. Our view of the "Bell" and the "Courthouse" was ruined by the parking lot full of construction trailers, the McDonalds sign and the busy highway in the foreground. The magic feel of eating breakfast on the balcony in front of red rock formations loses its appeal when traffic is whizzing by 25 feet away. The reason they won't promise a view is that such few rooms have a decent one. The manager even admitted as much to me. While the room prices may be relatively cheap for Sedona, I consider their wording about the views a bait and switch.
We got there late the first night only to find that we had been bumped from a one bedroom to an efficiency. The night manager told us we were to be not charged for the first night, but instead of keeping their word, staff barged right through the door at 9 AM with a quick knock, key and 5 seconds later he was looking at my naked girlfriend and me having sex. He looks my stark naked GF right in the face, says "sorry" and walks out the door.
What kind of training does that staff have to walk in like that at 9 AM? When I told the manager what happened she never even apologized. I told her she wan't going to like my review and here it is!
Beautiful facilities in one of the most desirable locationWe in the U.S. But do no come here if you need to use the internet during your visit. We wanted to spend a few days at this resort and get some work done in these beautiful surroundings. Forget it; internet service is $7 a day (AT&T), and the service is terrible -- almost like a dial-up connection from the 1990s. Worse yet, the cable TV is not high definition. All TV channels are blurry and low resolution. Don't even try to watch a football game if you stay here since you can barely make out the yard markers. All in all, a disappointing visit. We will not return.
So then we have to move, which was an inconvenience. They refused to keep their word and comp the first night, and were even unable to tell me how much I was charged for the room since it was booked through a third party. When I complained that they didn't keep their word, they offered to refund a $30 resort fee and gave a $50 gift certificate for use only at their sister resort's restaurant. I would have been OK with that if they hadn't promised something better first. Again BAIT AND SWITCH!
I told the manager all the above and while she was very polite, she simply refused to make good on their word. I just got the impression that customer service is a low priority. It was spring break, they were booked, taking the $, and not giving the love. Maybe when they get enough bad reviews they'll realize the poor customer service is costing them, and do something to change it!
The rooms were good but I have received aggressive spam phone calls (about one every other month) for the past two years despite asking to be taken off their contact list, and despite blocking their phone number after every call (they just use a different incoming number). The room isn't worth the hassle.
